Question by jumetosa: Which Notebook is best? I want a notebook that will play one or two high powered games, have enough ram/memory and have a good enough graphic card to play the games, see photos clearly, and be able to hold music and etc. I really like the new fresh look of windows Vista and what comes with it. However I have heard that it is slow since it is a new development. I am tired of using Windows XP. I am tied between a Mac Pro and this one, (HP Pavilion dv9000z Series) http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=notebooks&a1=Brand&v1=HP+Pavilion&a2=From+price&v2=%24800-%241000&series_name=dv9000z_series I can add enough memory and the graphic card when I customize it to hold games and to be able to suport Windows Vista Premium. But the Mac can also run Microsoft Office's features so maybe I don't need a comp with Vista. I'm not looking for someone to rant about Mac or Vista, I just want a straight answer, which one is better? Best answer for Which Notebook is best?:

get a macbook or macbook pro i know im getting a macbook this week .... why? I can play less games on a mac than on a PC but im just gonna install xp or vista....and all games will work I REALLY think you should get a macbook and not a win machine because it's just so wayyyy-superior I personally own and type this from my AMD athlon 5000+ desktop, which is awesome...but its worth buying a MACBOOK more than a WINDOWS NOTEBOOK and for DESKTOPS...i recommend PC's

Macs are great gaming machines and, yes, there is an MS Office version for Mac but, one shouldn't buy a Mac just to have a better machine to run Windows on. Windows is still Windows. The thing most people don't rationalize is that Microsoft writes software. Hundreds of dealers put machines together on which they hope to run Windows. Compatibility is hit or miss. In my experience, Sony put together a great machine but Compaq stinks. Apple, on the other hand, developes both hardware and software to work well together and the two never have to deal with anyone else's stuff. Now with Intel chips in Macs, the bridge has been built to run Windows on the Mac but, Windows is still Windows. Everything you read about running Windows on a mac warns you that with Windows comes all the Windows issues (i.e., hardware compatibility and viruses). Get a Mac because you want a great overall computing experience and you' re tired of the Windows nightmare.

I don't understand why people want to buy a Mac and then install Vista on it. OS is OS be it Vista or Mac. (And this is not a rant toward either Vista or Mac, I am just saying both are equal) The other thing is that if you are stuck between Mac Pro or HP pavillion dv9000z Then I would suggest you to go with HP.

I say go with the HP because I have one and the games look amazing on it.
