It's a common scam, they ask you to pay for the shipping and then disappear Don't be stupid when buying a car, inspect before you pay and if you don't know enough about cars to inspect it (or have someone to help) then go to a dealer

Well, for starters its a volkswagen. so yeah he should be nervous because they're junk. Second, if you can get in contact with the third party seller(edmunds?) to make sure its legit, I say its all good. Otherwise buying a car without seeing it is a huge mistake. Good luck.

That is definitely a scam. Always see a car in person before you buy it... and if it sounds too good to be true, it is; no exceptions. $ 4,800 seems way too low for a 2003 audi a4 with only 71K miles on it... in fact, KBB says that that car would be worth 13k, in the condition it is apparently in, to a private party sale... When someone goes into details about their sappy husband's illnesses or dying cat, don't even bother to finish reading the e-mail.

This is a VERY common scam that has run for years through ad sites like Craigslist, Autotrader, Kijiji, etc... my guess is the ad is already pulled from whatever site you saw it. Always a sob story, the car is always WAY under book value (the "deal of a lifetime"), and the "seller" always asks for funds to be wired. Know this... once the funds are wired, they are gone. There is no retrieving them, no take-backs, no magic way of getting your money back. The majority of these scammers are overseas, the wired funds are sent overseas, and thousands of people have fallen victim.

Definitely a scam. Was looking at an Acura on cars.com and she sent me the exact same emails. Under the name Roxanne Becker. Do not follow through with this.

I am trying to buy the same CAR!! Catherine Black sent me a link and a car fax report. I am so glad I googled this. It's apparently a scam. I saw the ad on cars.com about four days ago.
