Computers - A Desktop Or a Laptop? [bestcomputersprices.blogspot.com]

Computers - A Desktop Or a Laptop? [bestcomputersprices.blogspot.com]

www.tweaktown.com BitFenix made the airwaves a little while ago with its launch and entry into the market highlighting itself as a high-end gaming hardware manufacturer. The team is built around well known tech people with plenty of experience in the industry from the likes of such well known past and present companies such as ABIT and CM Storm. The creation of the company is an interesting story, but best left for another time. Yesterday we headed out to the brand spanking new BitFenix office and in our second video we got an exclusive hands-on video preview of their upcoming rugged and rubber coated Survivor mid tower computer case for gamers on the move. Again, this product was introduced to us by Swedish chap David who is the product manager and it is important to keep in mind that this particularly sample only just arrived in from the China factory and it is a prototype and not yet finished -- ie it will go throu gh some changes before the final retail version ships sometime in September with an estimated street price of around 140 USD. The Survivor is like the Colossus a case like we have never seen before and it will most likely end up being the second product to be released by BitFenix. The rubber coating used is very soft and feels nice to touch. We also like the idea of the unique handle design that should make it easier for gamers to carry their system around to LAN parties and such. Distributed by Tubemogul.

Virtually every household nowadays seems to have a desktop or laptop computer or, if is hasn't, then it would certainly like to acquire one. As the tile of this article suggests, there are two principal types of computing hardware, the desktop computer and the laptop computer (also known as the portable computer or the notebook.) If you are looking to acquire a new personal computer, which of the two you decide to purchase depends on your personal needs but there are some pointers to which of the two models is likely to be the one for you.

Simplicity

A portable computer requires no setting up at all, whilst desktops need connections between the computer tower, the screen, the mouse and the keyboard. Consequently, it is far more straightforward to get the former up and running than the latter. Equally, only one power socket is required to recharge the laptop.

Size

Clearly, there is a significant difference between the size of a desktop and the si ze of a laptop. If you have limited space in your home for a workstation, a laptop is probably more suitable for your needs than a desktop.

Portability

If you want to take your computer with you when you when you go on a business trip or a vacation (to access email or carry out online financial transactions such as internet banking) a laptop is the only possible solution. This is not only because of the relative sizes but also because the portable computer has its own rechargeable battery, meaning that it can be used for a limited period of time, in locations that do not have any power supply.

Performance

Generally, you will find that, because of component sizes, a desktop is likely to have a better Central Processing Unit (also known as the computer processor) a larger hard disk drive, meaning more data can be stored, and a larger amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) This means that the performance of a desktop, acquired for the same or a similar pri ce as a laptop, is likely to be better.

Display

A desktop is likely to have a far bigger screen available to its users than its portable counterpart, so the graphic experience is likely to be more enjoyable.

Laptop computers are rapidly catching the desktops in terms of their performance, so this may become less of an issue in future comparisons. Price is likely to remain in favour of the desktop. The key issue is likely to continue to be that of portability. Therefore, if looking for a computer that you can use on the move, you should elect the laptop. If you are happy to leave your P.C. at home, you might get a better deal on a desktop. Whatever you do, shop around for the best deal by visiting the computer comparison and review websites, which can give excellent advice and guidance to anyone looking for a great computer deal.
