While the screen looks good in the right conditions, viewing angles weren't the best. People sitting to the right or left of the screen couldn't see images clearly. As they year comes to an end, it is now time to round up some of the best laptop models of 2009. After reviewing PCs for so long, I must say that 2009 has been one of the most exciting years ever! Here is a short list of some of the best full-featured laptops of this year.
Apple MacBook Pro: Since the launch of the new range of MacBook Pro laptops earlier this year, they have taken the laptop market by storm. Consumers were snapping them up (and still are) like hot cakes and tech critics showered them with raving reviews. If you ever had the pleasure of using one of these laptops, it would be easy to see why. There are tones of new features (such as a lower starting price, FireWire port, SD card slot, etc) and it also sports a new sleek design. The batteries now have a longer lifespan and the new Snow Leopard OS also adds to the pleasure of using these laptops. All in all, if you have the extra cash to spare, the new Apple MacBook Pro will prove to be a gr eat buy!
Asus UL Series: The Asus UL series is one of my favorites laptop collection for this year. They are ultra-slim laptops that come with an amazing battery life. The Asus UL80VT-A1 model for instance has an impressive 11.5-hours of battery life. These are full-sized laptops (in terms of screen and keyboard size). They come with HD LED-backlit displays and usually have lots of RAM and a spacious hard disk. Best of all, they are also quite affordable (compared to other ultra-thin laptop models).
Toshiba Satellite Series:The Toshiba Satellite Series has been in the market for a very long time now and for good reasons too! Toshiba laptops are famous for being extremely reliable and very durable. So if you are looking for a full-sized and full-featured laptop, a laptop from the Toshiba Satellite series will prove to be an excellent choice. They are usually very well-priced, practical and powerful.
Acer Aspire AS1410-8414: I have single handedly picked this laptop from the bunch because I thought that it was one of the most interesting laptop models of 2009. The Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 is labeled as a 11.6-inch laptop, but I say that it is more of a laptop-netbook hybrid. It has a comfortable full-sized keyboard, a HD display and netbook price tag. The RAM on this laptop can be upgraded to a maximum of 4GB and it comes with an Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 processor. At the moment, the Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 retails at just around $ 418 each!

As far as computers go, there are those that prefer Mac, which are great computers, and itâs nearly impossible to get a virus with one, but theyâre pretty expensive for most. I also recommend Toshiba and Dell computers. Iâve had a lot of success with both. If you donât have a problem with buying refurbished products (Refurb or No?) then you can save a lot of money that way. If you are only going to use the computer for surfing the web, checking email, writing documents, databases, and spreadsheets, you can save a lot of money by purchasing a mini such as Asus EEE or a Dell Mini. You can also save a lot of money by looking for free alternatives to software: Instead of Microsoft Office, get OpenOffice.org or use Google Documents. Instead of paying for antivirus or antispyware software, check out AVG (free versionâ"see this tutorial). If you use Photoshop, check out GIMP (free).

I have bought Toshiba laptops and I personally think they are the best, but thats my opinion. The cheapest times to buy laptops are right before school starts, and on black friday after thanksgiving, but stores periodically have sales. I would recommend that you don't get an HP, everyone i know who has one has had problems with it and had to either get a new laptop or send it back for repairs. You should get a laptop that has at least 2G Ram and a 200G hard drive, but you would be better off getting 3G Ram to start with.
