In today's technologically inclined world, it is rare to walk into a household that does not yet possess a computer.

We use computers for nearly everything today, such as organising our daily routines, social networking, data planning, academic work, and much more. Although many people love the compact features and mobility associated with laptop computers, there are many of us who still consider a desktop computer to be the best option for use at home.

Desktops offer can be configured in a variety of ways to suit the space available, and are ideal for home offices as well as businesses. The main benefit of a laptop computer is its size, but whereas desktops bring us many more possibilities when it comes to power and performance, the compromises which will need to be made are now fewer than ever.

One of a desktop's main advantages is in the ease with which its capacity and features can be expanded by the addition of the likes of CD or DVD drives, mult iple PCI slots, and a bigger hard drive. For someone who will spend long periods of time working at their computer, a desktop holds much more appeal than a laptop. It is far easier to lay out the components of a desktop computer so they can be used ergonomically, which makes them much more suitable for using over a long period than a laptop computer. Additionally, desktops tend to have larger monitors which are easier on the eyes.

As you search for your ideal desktop computer, it will soon become apparent that desktops are typically more affordable than laptops. As the main focus of a laptop computer is geared around how compact it is, more engineering is needed to fit all the required components into the limited space available. When you consider that, it comes as no surprise that desktops tend to be the more cost-effective options. If you are looking to get your hands on a computer for your home or business environment which will not need to be moved, desktops are th e way to go.

Many manufacturers are today making desktop computers with the highest quality of components and the most state-of-the-art features. Desktops also allow a great deal of individual customisation of the important functions and programs which they use, depending on whether they are to be put to work in a classroom, library, business, or home.

No matter which features available in desktops are top of your shopping list, there are many fantastic and affordable options on the market to choose from. One of the best places to begin your search for your ideal desktop computer is on the internet. You can gather information, browse makes and models and pinpoint the desktops with the best combination of features for your price range.

The one on Amazon has a better processor, while the one on cyberpower has a larger hard drive and a slightly better video card. You can build a copycat of these systems for around $ 800-$ 850 including tax, shipping, and Windows 7, all from http://www.newegg.com/

Between those two, the 2nd one is better for gaming. Roughly 70% of your gaming performance depends upon the graphics card. So even though the first computer's Core i5 2500K is far better than the 2nd computer's Phenom II X6 1090T, the 2nd computer's Radeon HD 6870 more than offsets having the weaker AMD processor. A better choice than either...Take this system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227338 Then add these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125385 The The Core i5 2400 is superior to the Phenom II X6 1090T but more important, the Radeon HD 6950 is another level up the performance ladder. http://www.techspot.com/review/359-nvidia-geforce-gtx-560ti/page9.html You could also configure a whole Core i5 2400 system on CyberpowerPC's site, but the shipping charges usually torpedo you in the end (typically $ 60-$ 75) compared to a pre-built Cyberpower system on Newegg with cheap shipping.
