The Nvidia 8500 and 9500 series are not the top-end in graphics cards. Instead, look for a machine with at least an 8800GT. Look at the charts at http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/graphics-cards/3dmark06-v1-0-2-hdr-sm3-0-score,538.html for some comparisons. (There is a pull down for checking various games with rendering options turned on/off.) Ignore any cards listed with CF or SLI at the end as these are dual-card configurations (i.e., two graphics cards working in parallel)

They are fine, but one thing that I noticed was that the 2nd one lists 6 GB or memory. This tells me tht the operating system must be 64 bit. There can be compatibility issues with 64 bit operating systems. The additional resources that they can take advantage of are nice, but make sure that everything that you are workng (Software and Hardware) with is 64 bit compatible. I have run into issues with customer's printers that won't work with the 64 bit O.S. Microsoft Operating Systems are "standard" with 32 bit, and only recognize about 3.5GB of memory. The world is moving toward 64 bit and beyond, but for now make sure that you know what your programs and peripherals will work with or you will need to add them into your budget.
