Sure a reputable desktop computer will have the most cutting edge features as well as the most technologically advanced functionalities on board. However, what makes a truly excellent system is that it should simply be more than just a sum of its parts. Below are three of the best desktop computers of this year that will surely suit every individual's need - may it be for superior computing capabilities, an excellent multimedia experience, or just to show off one's style.
The Ephex (Maingear)
With an i7 Intel Core 965 processor, Maingear's newest desktop computer is definitely one of the fastest PC's around. However, with this accolade it would only be right that it is also one of the most expensive. At a whopping $ 4,000, the Ephex is definitely a system fit for those who are looking for the best in the business with price being a non-factor. This extremely overclocked system allows for record-setting performance when it comes to running games and applica tions. Its tri-SLI 3D graphics cards are also an excellent addition to further boost the Ephex's performance prowess.
Aside from being extremely expensive, customer support and service might be an issue given that Maingear is not entirely a mainstream brand.
The Vaio JS250J (Sony)
The newest addition to the long line of Vaio computers is the JS250J - another all-in-one-device that is capable of performing a multitude of computing tasks at equally excellent degrees. Much like its predecessors, the Vaio JS250J is also an excellent combination of high performance and top of the line home entertainment features - all this for a lower price than its direct competitors. With a price tag of somewhere in the 1000-dollar region, the Vaio JS250J is also one of a few in this price range that has a built-in Blu-ray player.
Although it may not be as fast as the latest Apple iMac, the Vaio JS250J's Dual Core E5200 Intel processor (2.5 GHz) is able to hold its own. Along with its 320GB hard drive, the newest Vaio will also have a 4-Gigabyte DDR2 SDRAM to ensure high speed performance.
The 24-inch, 2.8 GHz iMac (Apple)
This latest version of the iMac is an upgrade of the one released by Apple a year ago. This one sees a few major tweaks, none more notable than the improved 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. This enhancement provides relevant gains in the performance of the new iMac. Also, the added option to upgrade the graphics is another welcome addition. This 24-inch-screened powerhouse will still posses the sleek and polished look made popular by its predecessors. No one seems to be complaining as this design still remains as appealing as it was when originally released a few years back.
One of the downsides of the new iMac is that it only provides 90 days of free phone support. This means that iPhone users will need to shed off a few more dollars if they want to continue this service. This cost will be on top of the $ 1,400 they'll need to spend in order to get their hands on Steve Job's latest masterpiece.
Suggest The Best in the Business - The Top 3 Desktop Computers in the Market Today ArticlesQuestion by Jillian1073: I don't know which computer! Help? I don't know very much about computers so please help! I am debating between 3 different ones. I need one that I can write papers on, watch videos, save a lot of music and photos. And edit some photos, just the basics though. I also want one that I can play the Sims 3 and maybe some other games. But I don't want one terribly pricey, or overpriced. Some computers I have found are listed below, or if you have any recommendations, that would be helpful. Which of the ones that I have found is the best for what I need? I don't want to spend more than $ 1,000 for the computer and moniter. http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/desktops/studio-xps-8000/pd.aspx?refid=studio-xps-8000&s=dhs&cs=19&~oid=us~en~29~studio-xps-8000-anav2~~HXv2JO6n&m_8=1TBS&mo=8~1TBS http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/imac?mco=MTAyNTQzNjA http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_can_series.do?storeName=computer_store&category=desktops&a1=Category&v1=High+performance&a2=From+price&v2=Over+%24600&series_name=e9210t_series&jumpid=in_R329_prodexp/hhoslp/psg/desktops/High Best answer for I don't know which computer! If money is no matter, get the Mac. If you actually care about how much you spend, get the Dell. Mac's are overpriced, and Dell's have a good reputation for reliability.

Dell's customer service is the worst I've seen, so I wouldn't recommend that. If you want to do any gaming, the Mac is not a good idea. The HP is the best of the 3 you selected, but Staples has a Compaq Presario CQ5210F with a dual core 2.7g processor, 500g hard drive, 3g of pc6400 memory and windows7 for $ 371. I bought one a month ago for $ 299. It will do everything the HP you selected for about half the price. I am VERY happy with this computer. With the money you save, you can go buy a huge monitor, and you'll have a great system. I bought a refurbished 22" lcd monitor for $ 110 at geeks.com. Happy computing
