Question by kmoney2008: Do you think this decade dragged on for too long? It sure looked like it to me. Are you ready for the next decade? Will anybody remember this decade? There were way too many downsides to this decade and no fashion either. Can't get a job anymore unless you have a degree. I was born in '91, so this decade only dragged on to me because this is the only one I was here for the whole thing. Yeah, the fashion was horrible.

No,it went too fast before my very eyes. That's a good thing since it was very negative.I hope the next decade is like the 90's where the economy was excellent and people actually had a positive attitude.

I can't really say wether or not it dragged on or not (its really the only full decade Ive lived through), but the fads that most decades are known for have sucked. What do we have? Emo pop? Twitter?

If you're like me you love your mini notebook and probably take it everywhere you go. Because of that you need to be extra careful about theft or damage to it. Not you worry though, below are 5 tips to make sure your laptop stays safe and undamaged.

Buy A Case - Buying a case helps more with damage then theft. Cases for mini notebooks can be found at a great price at various online stores such as Amazon and eBay. You also have the option of making your own personalized case. If you're accident prone like me you might want to look into one of the cases that has extra padding added on the corners to help reduce shock if dropped.

Don't Get A Bright Color - Many manufacturers are starting to offer mini notebooks in various colors to help attract different groups of buyers and while they are very cool looking, they attract a lot of attention. Try to steer clear of netbooks that come in blue, green, pink or any of the other brigh t colors. Instead try to find a model that comes in black or even white. While white may seem like a bright color it will still blend in better than some of the other colors and white is becoming much more popular thanks to Apple.

Don't Show It Off - This one was very tough for me when I first got my mini notebook. It was so small and fun to play with that I wanted to show it to everyone. Try to show it to people discreetly or in a private place like your own home or car. Thieves are very gutsy and observant; don't make it any easier for them to get a good look at what electronics you are carrying.

Password Protect & Back Up - Sometimes, no matter how hard to try and protect your mini notebook, it could still be stolen. To help protect yourself there are two main things you should do. First is put a password on your computer. While this won't keep everyone out, it will help stop people from stealing your personal information and possibly stealing your identify. Try to make the password hard to guess by not using common things such as birth dates or pet names. Also add letters or numbers to the password which will help someone from doing a brute force attack with words from a dictionary. The second thing is to backup your netbook. You have a few options that make backing it up very easy. The simplest is to just keep all your documents on a USB flash drive. The best part about this is if someone does manage to steal your mini notebook, they won't get any personal information at all. Your second option for backup is to backup to one of the many online backup companies that have become so popular over the past few years. They work by backing up your computer once a day to an online based storage company. A lot of companies offer basic plans for free and they are completely hands off, meaning once you do the initial setup it just runs in the background backing up your computer every day.

Be Aware - This is one of the easiest ways to prevent theft or damage to your mini notebook. Be aware of where you use your netbook and who's around. Don't trust that other people in the coffee shop will stop someone if you go to the bathroom and leave your mini laptop sitting at the table. I know this seems like an overly obvious thing, but you'd be surprised at how many people don't even think about it.

Hopefully these 5 tips will help keep that nice mini notebook you've got safe and free of damage. If it does happen to get stolen or damaged don't feel to bad, it happens to everyone, myself included.
