I'm not really into gaming, I don't keep a whole lot of pictures or music on my computer. I like the convenience of the netbooks since they are small. I do like the portability but also like the price so ideally I would like to keep it under $ 300, if I was goign to spend more than that I may as well get a regular laptop. Mainly what I do is surf the internet, check email, maybe a little writing in word or works. Will I be able to watch streaming netflix videos? Will I be able to watch youtube videos? Will I be able to keep minimum music and pics on it? Any recommendations on brands? I keep seeing HP, Asus and Acer. Which of these is best? Looking to spend $ 300 maybe $ 350 max, if I were going to spend anything more than that I would just spring for a compact laptop. Yes, a netbook will be fine for all the things you mentioned. Just don't expect to be able to store a ton of stuff on it. I would get a name brand, out of the 3 you mentioned, ASUS is probably the best. One thing I would do I i were you is upgrade the RAM. Most netbooks come with 1gb standard, that's too little. Get a netbook with at least 2GB. That extra memory will go a long was towards smoothing out your streaming videos.
