The cheapest way to go is to build it yourself but if you dont know how to do it then get one with a dual core processor, at least 2 GB of Ram, and at least a 8600GT video card

I would say that building on would be nice, But if you are into just internet and some lite games, the Walmart would be ok. If you need one that will do graphics and good picture handling the I would say check out a Dell. The great part is have fun shopping for what you want.

cheap is a relative term. What is your budget? It's also hard to buy a computer that is good for gaming and is still cheap. In general you'll be looking in the $ 900 and over range for a bottom end gaming computer. The reason is because of the added RAM and the expense of the video card itself. The newer video cards are usually paired with better cpu 's as well. It also depends if you're ordering online or going to a store. If you cn find it best buy has started selling the Velocity Micro - ProMagix 6000+ Desktop, this one is a pretty good bottom end gaming computer. There are of course many others out there.
