www.tweaktown.com One of Corsair's big announcements at CES this year is the introduction of their very first PC speakers. You may know Corsair has a newish audio group within its company that has a range of headsets and now Corsair continues its long lasting transition from being just a memory company, to one who I reckon wants to eventually buildup a big enough product portfolio that it can make its own high-end gaming PC systems from its own parts. Alright, so I might be getting ahead of myself here, but this is happening bit by bit. Back on track, we hooked up with Dylan who is in charge of Corsair audio and he gave us a look at the SP2500 2.1 speaker system. It comes with plenty of neat features I won't begin to pretend I know about, but if you are an audio enthusiast and want a solid set of new PC speakers for your desk, it seems like Corsair is right on the money here. But without the aid of an LCD and quality speakers, the multimedia experience is not as enjoyable. With new computers come better speakers like wireless computer speakers which allow the owner easy installation since it does not require cables or wires. Since these speakers come in various shapes and sizes, installing them not only allow one to express his artistic side but also gives the area of installation a sense of style.

Wireless computer speakers, through the use of a USB receiver, allow them to be installed 150 to 300 feet away from the central processing unit or CPU. These speakers may also be installed in nearby rooms, the dining area, and other areas of the house ensuring that quality sound always reaches those who want it. A number of companies have offered affordable prices for wireless computer speakers. Since many cannot determin e the difference between high priced and mid ranged priced brands, buying expensive ones does not ensure high quality.

The choice for wireless computer speakers depends on a variety of factors including the price, their designs and quality of sound produced. Aside from these factors, consumers also look for a low-frequency bass effect without the so-called "heavy boom" and a surround sound that makes computer entertainment comparable any available high priced audio-video multimedia.

In choosing wireless speakers, it is advisable to get that which cannot be affected by various interferences produced by other household appliances like a microwave oven. To address this problem, consumers should find wireless computer speakers with an intermediate frequency such as that offered by Bluetooth. This technology also allows signals to be carried across a room and through thick walls without having to worry about interferences.

Different types of wireless computer sp eakers are available in the market. Three of the most common includes 7.1, 5.1 and 2.1 computer speaker system. When listening to music, playing games or watching movies, the 7.1 version may be the best for the job. The 7.1 version has six two-way satellite speakers, one two-way center satellite speaker and one sub woofer. For mid level applications, 5.1 versions come with four two-way satellite speakers, one two-way center satellite speaker, and one sub woofer, which are good for mid-level applications. The 2.1 version, which is ideal for computer games but not for listening to music and watching movies, consists of a two-way center satellite and a pair of satellite speakers.

The demand for wireless computer speakers is increasing at a steady rate. Even iPods and MP3 players find it a useful means for letting friends and other people hear their favorite songs. Though it has been established that wireless computer speakers are currently a necessity, caution should be p racticed when selecting the type, size and brand. Compatibility between the wireless computer speaker and the computer itself should be the highest priority during the selection because only when these two are compatible can all the benefits be reaped.

You misspelled bass (english lesson comes free with computer advice ;) Personally I love Logitech Speakers. Klipsch also makes very good speakers. Logitech 5.1 310watt speakers for $ 199: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8490885&st=Logitech+Speakers&lp=5&type=product&cp=1&id=1186003684908

if you're looking for the overall best, the logitech z5500 are by far the best speakers i've ever owned. they're powerful (505 watts), 5.1, and they've got a separate control unit and remote. from dell, they cost about 250$ with free shipping. under 200$ ? i'd go with the logitech x550 (i believe that's the name). it's a 5.1 system that is very powerful, and has a good amount of bass - just enough so that it's huge when you're at your computer and not so much that you get a headache. and they look good =)

Answer by Jim H
They are all pretty much the same, and will work well. You can get a decent pair for under $ 50 with a subwoofer, and Bose has some really sexy ones for around $ 200, that won't sound much better.

Logitech makes great speaker systems for the price, and their subwoofers have tons of bass. Also, you may want a sound card. Turtle Beach makes good ones (I've been using my Turtle Beach card and my 5.1 Logitech speakers for about 6 years)

i have these and they are great they are louder enough to annoy the neighbors and the base is probably the best thing about these speakers and it can be adjusted up or down. you need to get a 5.1 sound card though which aren't expensive if there for a laptop then you need an external soundcard. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-X-540-5-1-Speaker-System/dp/B000JJM8XE/ref=pd_bbs_11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222810703&sr=8-11 p.s they look nicer in real life.

I like how everyone says their logitech speakers (other than Z-5500) have a ton of bass. The Z-5500s have a decent amount, but the others have weak, and muddy bass. Even the Z-5500 bass is sloppy and muddy until i switched out the capacitors inside the sub box. If you want bass, get some klipsch speakers. Not muddy and boomy, but powerful enough to knock drywall loose!
