Ethernet Splitter: Best Ways to Purchase [bestcomputersprices.blogspot.com]

Question by HaloHelper: Xbox Live Connection using a wireless router. Which is the best one (price, quality and speed)? I have wanted Xbox Live since I bought my 360, but I could never find the right thing to use. I tried to use an Ethernet cable, but in doing that, realized that I couldn't use my internet on the computer, since it is connected to an Apple Time Capsule. I discovered that some wireless routers can connect to the Internet, but I'm not sure which ones. PS: My internet is a piece of ****, downloads on my iPod touch and Mac go to about 25 kbs, which I HATE. I played on Xbox Live using an Ethernet cable, and the Multiplayer on Halo 3 was fine, but while playing with my friend on Campaign, it had extreme lag (not sure if it was him or me). Extra Question (Best Answer if decent :) ) How do I make my Internet faster, and why is it slow? Best answer for Xbox Live Connection using a wireless router. Which is the best one (price, quality and speed)?:

Netgear its really good and you can get for about $ 50-60 at walmart.

Definitely definitely Netgear. They're pretty solid, have a good connection, and are really easy to set up. It's all I ever use or recommend. As far as improving your internet speed, most internet providers offer different tiers that cost different amounts based on download/upload speed. It's definitely something to ask your cable/internet provider about. A quick fix for internet speed, though, is to make sure nothing else in the house is accessing it, as this will bug it down quick. Turn off other PCs or mobile devices that are using the connection. Think of the pie analogy..

I saw a couple people say Netgear. I have a Netgear wgr614...it is compatible with Xbox 360 live...but i will get disconnected in the middle of a game sometimes...it is very frustrating. I can usually reconnect quickly, but that is beside the point. I have been disconnected 3 different times today alone, in about a span of 2-3 hours...all in the middle of a game of Tiger Woods 2010...and I was winning all 3 of those matches...as I said, very frustrating. It seems once it disconnects me it wants to act up for a while and do it again a little while later. It will work good for a few hours...then it just goes to crap. I have checked everything else...and am sure it is the router. I have done some research and it seems that either d-link or linksys seems to be what what people recommend. I just wish I knew this before hand, as I am about to have to to buy a new router...just reading up and trying to decide which one would be best. Anyways...hope this helps.

D-Link Systems HD Media Router 3000 (DIR-857) Review This router is by far the best router on the market right now. It's fast, Dual Band so you can have your 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz stream going... But keep in mind that the new wireless routers that will be coming onto the scene now are all about HD Media Sharing!!! The key is to have a powerful wireless router with a USB Port that an External Hard Drive can plug into and with strength enough to push those 1080P movies to your smart TV or Computer. Wake up and smell the coffee everyone. Physical Media like DVDs, CDs, and BlueRays are going bye bye. Computers are already coming out without DVD drives. Everything soon will be on Hard Drives or Solid State Drives. So with that said that brings me to my next point.... The best feature of this router by far is the program called SharePort Plus. It is a program that comes on the CD Disk that comes with the router and you can install the program to any computer and instead of mapping the external hard drive you plug into the router you just plug in the external hard drive, install the SharePort Plus Program and it maps the hard drive for you. The last Wireless Router I owned was the Cisco Linksys E4200v2. Which was a good router just like this one. Powerful smooth, etc. It also had a media server and was able to stream files from a hard drive. But you had to map the hard drive by going into the Wireless router's advanced settings and creating a partition. Also the USB Port on the ...

Are you currently looking to split Internet connections between two or more computers and do not have the money to be able to purchase a new wireless adapter or new Internet service? Then it may be best for you to go about purchasing an inexpensive Ethernet Splitter, a tool that can help you to accomplish this task easily and efficiently while maintaining a good, strong Internet connection, at no extra cost to you!

Ethernet Splitters can be purchased from any big name retail store, especially ones that specialize in carrying computers and other types of electronics, such as Best Buy or Comp USA. They are relatively inexpensive, running you much less than it would take to purchase a brand new wireless adapter, that does essentially the same exact thing that an Ethernet Splitter can.

All you need to do to set up an Ethernet Splitter is purchase one from a retailer of your choice, in store or online. Then you need to plug it in to each of the computers you wou ld like to connect via a designated USB adapter or port. This will automatically split the connections between each of the computers, supplying each computer with a steady Internet connection that will not slow down in speed or waiver in performance.

It is also possible to create your own Ethernet Splitter, but this requires skill that is far more advanced and a lot of materials that may be difficult for you to come by. This can also end up costing you a lot more money than you would spend from a retailer.

So what are you waiting for? It couldn't be simpler for you to connect two or more of your computers to the same Internet connection. All it takes is a little bit of research, a small amount of money, and a bit of perseverance. Simply go on down to the nearest retailer or head online to find the best price on an Ethernet Splitter, and you will be one step closer to having that Internet connection that you need on the computers in your household.
