According to a study by Parks Associates, 26% of all U.S. broadband households still connect a computer to their TV to enjoy locally stored or online content that is only accessible through their desktop or laptop. Digital video projectors use to carry a huge price tag, some of them still do. Couple years ago a cheap video projector was considered anything under the price of $ 2000. The huge price tag used to range from $ 2000.00 all the way up. I remember seeing one at a store back in the days for about $ 15,000.00 - I will not name brands. The good new is that today a cheap video projector is not difficult to find. Gone are the days when you had to go down to the computer shop to listen to the sales person as he or she attempts to sell you what ever LCD projector was in stock at the time. Today, all you need is a keyboard, a mouse and an internet connection.

Ok, so what are your options if you need to make your presentation standout, but not break the bank

Well, as I indicated earlier the internet has leveled the playing field and has created an instant store, with shopping from the comfort of your home. Internet retailers are competing for your business a nd this has lead to drastic price drop. Today, you can get a cheap digital video projector at various online stores for below $ 500. With top brands like Infocus, Sony, Epson, Panasonic still above the $ 1000 price tag. I have learned that if you look hard you will find a discount video projector in those same brands at below the $ 500.00 mark, but I doubt they will be new. They will most likely be in the Refurbished or used category, but in excellent working condition

Because online retailers are competing for your clicks, they are basically slashing their prices to have your name into their system. Why? because there are so many accessories that they can sell you along with your projector purchase. They would rather sell a cheap video projector as an initial sale to get you into the "door". Do not be fooled by the low price of these units. Because they do not have the over head cost associated with maintaining a brick and motor store, these online stores can afford to keep their prices much lower.

Finally, there are number of bells and whistle ( some people call them features) that are associated with a projector. The best ones of course are those which have a higher value in some of the standard features. So how do you know what to get? Well, this short article will not be able to tell you anything that has not already been written. I would suggest you visit an online wikipedia and read up. See what features that meet your needs. Keep in mind that a cheap video projector is not one with all the fancy features. Those with all the fancy features also carry the higher price tags. You may already know what you are looking for , but if you do not know, then read up well, ask questions.

Another thing you can do is visit that local computer store, listen to that sales person tell you about all the features, the come back online to look for the best price you can find. Happy presenting or movie watching.
