Case Study Question; High Fuel Costs, Bad Time to Start a Truck Wash Business? [bestcomputersprices.blogspot.com]

facebook.com Testing my 2013 Ford Mustang GT with the Track Package 0-60 mph time with the onboard Track Apps in the gauge cluster. This run I used the dragstrip style tree start. Current modifications are JLT CAI, Lund Racing 92 Octane Tune, and Pypes Pype Bomb Axle Back Exhaust. The car runs great and with a good launch I'm sure low 4 second times are possible. If you look up 2011 Mustang GT tests, they usually get 0-30 times of 1.6-1.7 seconds and mine was 2.2 so you can tell I didn't really launch hit. With a 1.7 second 0-30 the 0-60 would have been 4.2 seconds or so. I'm definitely loving this new 2013 Ford Mustang GT. And I'll definitely be making a lot more videos. Thanks for watching! RB Jurell Green ran for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, and QB Chris Davis scored three times as host Oviedo (1-0) beat Lyman (0-1) 60-7. No.¿8 Oviedo got two scores from its defense in the first quarter, including a 40-yard interception ... Oviedo romps behind 60-point outburst

The transportation sector is under a bit of stress with high fuel prices. Does this mean there are less trucks on the road and thus less trucks to be washed? Actually, no there are not less trucks on the road, actually large truck fleets are making more money by adding fuel costs into customer pricing.

What about competition during a squeeze to save costs and streamline the sector, more money for fuel means less money for other expenses right? But the larger trucking companies generally sign up with Blue Beacon for $ 30.00 washes with a corporate discount and they have 90 plus truck washes plus their side brand Hand Wash Charley's.

Now then the smaller trucking companies, which have long-term contracts cannot react to the increased fuel prices as fast like a FedEx, Swift, JB Hunt and they are really hurting. Small Trucking Companies and Independent Truck Drivers do not have the economies of scale to allow them to raise their prices and if they do they can lose contracts and if they don't they can go bankrupt due to the increases in costs. Either way they lose and typically the Independents are the highest paying truck wash customers you see? Independents are more apt to be the best customers for $ 55-70 Truck washes, taking pride in their ride.

There are more trucks on the roads, but also extreme pressure to keep quarterly profits up. And economic hick-up and you could find issues with load levels and pull-backs. Right now we are in a major transportation up swing and running redline, so is this a good time to set up a bunch of truck washes? Well, it depends if one can roll with the punches and market to the larger trucking companies who want faster washes to keep the trucks moving down the highway and low prices to meet their budget commands. Please consider all this in 2006.

Question by andy50005: will smaller radius wheels make for better 0-60 times, therefore "equivalent" to having a bit more brake HP? Best answer for will smaller radius wheels make for better 0-60 times, therefore "equivalent" to having a bit more brake HP?:

Answer by pyroline8
no the bigger the better and the wider the better.

Answer by kelly_f_1999
nope car will stil go just as fast or slow

Answer by Old Man Dirt
Yes, but you will loose top end speed.

Answer by volkswagen50
Yes Smaller diameter wheel/tire combinations are quicker, but top end will be less because you will run out of revs. What you are doing is effectively lowering the gear ratio, as well as mass to be accelerated. In a high power car, traction will be an issue. By lowering that effective ratio, you allow the car to climb into the revs quicker, and you will feel a difference if you have enough experience driving the car.

Answer by shane c
correct, kind of. Putting smaller tires on will decrease resistance caused by larger tires. Larger tires are usually heavier also, making even more resistance. I wouldn't call it "making" more brake HP, as i would call it "freeing up" more brake hp. When i was in automotive school in Philly we put a Mazda miata on the dyno with stock wheels. it made 107hp at the wheels. Then we put two little spare tires and rims on the back(about 2 inches shorter, and half the weight) and it made 112hp at the wheels. Both these runs were done withi n 15 min of each other so there was no change in air temperature. I hope this helped
