Key Board and Mouse - these are the two in put devices which you would be using continuously. Therefore it is recommended to have good quality USB keyboard and mouse. Wireless keyboard and mouse are not required because ultimately you have to sit in front of your monitor. Monitor - 15 to 19 inch TFT monitor is the best for home use. Although CRT monitors would be less costly it might create eye problem due to radiation and takes lot of spaces and generates more heat than that of TFT monitor.
CD/DVD Drive - Best option to have a DVD writer which would read as well as copy both CD and DVD. Other option is Combo drive which reads both CD and DVD but writes (Copies) only CD.
Network card or LAN card - Now a day a LAN card is must for every computer irrespective of whether you use it at home or at business place, because if you use internet, it might be required for connecting a broadband modem.
Operating System (OS) - Your computer is useless without operating syste m. For general user Windows operating system is best recommended. You might go for Windows vista Home edition or windows 7 home edition. Always ask for a genuine copy of the software including the original disk and license.
Antivirus Software - This is most important software you must purchase. Normally all supplier offer a computer with pre-installed copy of antivirus software with a free license for 1 year. If not provided by them, do not hesitate to buy a copy of that, because it is most important for the safety of your valuable data and your financial information which would be stored or used during a financial transaction on internet.

Firstly, the motherboard should be the first piece of equipment you decide upon, how do you know what RAM/Processor/Graphics chips you'll need when you don't know what you'll be plugging them into? You need a motherboard, case, wi-fi card, hard drive and arctic silver 5. Just so you know, the motherboard is the first component you decide on when building a rig, not the last. Your processor is killing your budget. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good choice, but to stay on budget, it's causing you to get a low quality power supply and a small (19") monitor with a slow response time (5ms).
