Windows Upgrade Pricing: How Low Will It Go?

While Macintosh computers have not exceeded the popularity of PCs, they continue their solid niche in the market to calculate. Mac fans may be fewer in number but they make up for it with enthusiasm at the point of jealousy. Interview any Mac user and get ready to listen to a litany of the best qualities of the Mac, namely: reliability, the use of ergonomics, screen brightness, and usability. But do not be surprised when a few fans who chose the Macs just to be different. It is arguable that Macs, despite their large difference in price, not really much of an advantage over PCs.

Usually laptop manufacturers are creating a different version of a model as the low turnover. However, the MacBook 13 "was a certified hit among customers. When the entry of the MacBook Pro was announced, there were some who questioned the need for the new model and whether it just might prove to be a wrong move.

On closer inspection, buyers had raised complaints about the lack of 13-inch MacBook FireWire and its lack of battery life.

So that's the quick story of why the MacBook Pro 13 "came to be. These were equipped with FireWire MacBook plus a host of new features and at a lower price.

It is good that what fans loved about the MacBook 13 "remains. The aluminum unibody construction was held, and the unit gives a stiff and unusual design.

Apple also made sure the battery life extending up to 7 hours of operation. A SecureDigital (SD) slot was added. Offering improved color reproduction and brighter images, the new LED-backlit screen.

Apple worked to improve the processing speed of 2.13 GHz to at least 2.26. The "Pro" designation means that it has a backlit keyboard.

With regard to errors, there are a few.

Because they do not have a discrete graphics processor, it depends on integrated graphics and some users just can not be satisfied with the result. A Doom 3 frame-rate test was conducted and found that it shifted nearly 40 frames per second at the highest video settings. There is no point in hoping for what was not meant to be but it would have made a big difference when they made the choice to put in discrete graphics.

SPECS - Options (from Apple's website)

CPU - 2.26 GHz or 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 3 MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed

RAM - 2GB to 4GB

Screen size - 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display

Operating system - OS X Leopard 10.5.7

Battery life - 7 hours (manufacturer's estimate)

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor

Pros

Let's start with why all Macs are loved by so many - it is easy to use. For those who are clumsy or accident, the fact that it is made with aluminum unibody construction is a huge relief. We appreciate Apple's attempt to extend battery life to approximately 7 hours. The design makes it more accessible. Loading applications, even some of them at the same time, is done quickly.

Cons

Discrete graphics is a painful issue with us so we would like to repeat it. We would like to grumble about the price, because despite its excellent properties, it is still not justified.

Conclusions

The 13-inch MacBook was a hit for a good reason. Despite its shortcomings, users tend to overlook them, because his performance and design for it. Now that Apple has corrected these deficiencies, it is becoming very difficult for competitors to steal some of its market. The MacBook Pro 13 "is a good buy, despite our problems with its price. If you can afford it, go for it and a happy and contented laptop user.

Question by l3xscrubs: Between only an Alienware m14x and a Mac book pro 15 in? At the end of the year I plan on purchasing either an alienware m14x or a mac book pro 15 inch. The decision was previously clear for me due to the ability to create a better alienware for the price of the mac. Sadly, apple has now upped the ability of the 15 inch mac book pro to reach a 2.5 ghz quad i7. Assuming that I would choose the 2.5 i7 for both and that each has the following specs, which would be the best choice? I am a college student going through pre medicine and also wanting to take courses possibly revolving around computer science. I plan on playing games on the laptop ( games like diablo 3, but possibly more intense ones if the laptop permits) but am mostly looking for compatibility and range of use. Benefits of the alienware include its wireless hd streaming, possibilities of self upgrading, and ports that allow for numerous possibilities of connection. The benefits of a mac would be the DDR5 video card and possibly virus free run. I am well acquainted with both systems but am simply having difficulty deciding between which I would find more universal and useful over time. I have a Mac book pro 15" and it plays games very well. It is not the new upgraded one that just came out so I can only assume it will work better. If you wish to use this for school you may want to check what programs they use because they might not be compatible with macs or vise versa. If you wish to play games macs are not the way to go but I'm pretty sure school is priority so check on what you will need for school first because they both can play games.

If your main goal is playing with games (like most PC users), and you don't have any need for Final Cut Pro, GarageBand, iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD, or Photo Booth, buy the Alienware. Game playing is its claim to fame. If you need fast file transfer to an external drive, and have a need to use any of the Apple software, buy the MacBook Pro 15". It has Thunderbolt for double the speed of USB 3.0... and that is only on paper. In real-life, all forms of USB fail to live up to the specs, so Firewire and Thunderbolt are the real performers in this area. You can also get a different feel and impression from using these two. The case materials are different and the feel is different. I cannot get excited about the clunky design of the Alienware, but the spec buyers don't care about that. They will throw it out anyway after two years and buy the latest updated processor and graphics notebook. I can't believe how Matt (and countless other PC geeks) fail to notice that all Macs run ALL THE PC SOFTWARE. You can run all Windows software and all OS X software on a Mac. It is the PC that will limit you.
