The title of best netbook is going from one model to another in the matter of weeks if not days, but one thing is certain, if you buy a proper mini notebook, you don't really need to worry about new editions, it will do well for a long time.

When you choose a netbook there are several different features to choose by. Most netbooks come with a single core Intel Atom processor, so there is not much you can decide on in this question. Almost all of them are also similarly fast, so the performance is consistent unless it's a Z520, which shouldn't be used in netbooks anymore. The latest addition to the market is N450, all-dancing all-singing core. It has an N280 core, and a GMA3150 integrated plus the memory controller chip.

There are also things that are up to personal preference. I like the keys used in Asus' seashell model line, but you may have a different opinion about pressure point, surface and feedback of the keys. The design is also a thing you need to know for yourself, I think an edgy design gives a gimmicky and hideous look to any mini notebook, but you may have an entirely different opinion about the matter.

One thing is absolute, and that's the battery life. Whatever the design and processor power, an ultra-portable computer succeeds or fails depending on how well it preserves battery power. Anything under 4 hours is automatically out of the top 10 list of netbooks, and anything above 10 hours is automatically in top 3. Connectivity options are often different in one given model line, so if you like a keyboard or case you don't have to choose a completely different computer to have bluetooth included.

The best netbook in 2010 Q2 in my subject and absolutely biased opinion is the Asus 1005PE with the 66 Watt-hours 6 cell Lithium-Ion battery is the best netbook of the season for three distinct reasons. First of all, it runs the most recent netbook processor, N450, which gives an insane 14 hours battery life with a simple 6 cell battery.

Second it has the same keyboard that comes with all 1xxx netbooks. This is keyboard I know and love much, so that's a point of bias towards the computer right there. Third it's rather cheap at around $ 360 at the time of writing the article. We may expect some drop in the price during the next one or two months, and after Christmas, but in before expect the price to stay the same or even go up a little.
