Heres what I found out when I went to the Apple website and looked at their laptops and then looked at Windows laptops, oh if you're not familiar GPU means Graphics Processing Unit which is a fancy way of saying Video Card, and HDD stands for Hard Drive (I consider $ 1800 to be a fair price for a top of the line laptop) An Apple Macbook Pro costs about $ 1800 base price with standard hardware, it has: CPU: Intel Core i7 2630qm, this is a good CPU but for $ 1800 I'd expect something better. GPU: Intel HD 3000, low grade integrated graphics card which actually slows down the computer. HDD: 500 GB @5400 RPM, memory size is about normal but 5400 RPM seems low for $ 1800. RAM: 4GB, this is the bare minimum RAM a computer should have still sorta low for this price. Warranty: I didn't find one, if you guys can provide a link in your answers that would be nice. RAM: 8 GB, this is a very good amount of RAM it wont have any problems running most programs. Warranty: 3 years Accidental Damage coverage, this one pretty much speaks for itself. Cooling: Its made out of Aluminum same as the Mac. Others: This has an Full HD 1080P screen and a Blu-Ray player too the mac doesn't. Both of these laptops are the same price and while the HP has far superior hardware, Mac OS is considered superior to Windows OS for various reasons; such as Mac's are less likely to get viruses. Well....I bought a Mac because a specific software was only available for it. I tend to choose whichever one is the most compatible with the software/hardware I'll need.

A PC will always be cheaper, because PC parts are modular. A Mac is fully integrated; you would have serious problems swapping one Mac component for another. That means that in terms of price, there's no need to compare at all; in ANY industry, the one that uses modular (and hence replaceable) parts will be the one that offers things at a lower price. Now, I am a big PC fan. For *desktops*. That's because I can get something better than a Mac for literally half the price. But when it comes to notebooks, I concede that Macbooks have a slight edge. Macbooks are very reliable, and the Mac OS compensates for the lower RAM through efficiency. Windows chews up much more run time memory, so you're likely to find that the Macbook is running as fast, if not faster, than Windows. The drawback to using a Macbook is the limited amount of software. There are programmes you can run on a laptop that you just can't run on a Mac. So if I were thinking, say, games, then it makes no sense for me to get a Mac. If I were thinking photo editing, I'd get a Mac. The right software is available, and the Mac is less prone to screwing up (not just from viruses). But as for desktops, screw the Mac. Overpriced and overrated.

Personal Note: There is even more techy scoop on this merchandise, but I want to give a personal note here. We have newly moved to a smaller home. I have to tell you that the two music chain stores couldn't come close. I did find two online stores that have very competitive prices. Don't hesitate when it comes to investing in this first-rate instrument. You will fall head over heals with it immediately. I know you will have many wonderful years with the Yamaha DGX-630.
