Once you've decided to purchase a laptop computer you should be careful not to rush into your decision. After all, this is a large purchase and there are a wide range of laptops available to choose from. Instead of choosing the first machine you find, take some time to think about what you really need so that you find the right laptop for you.
If you want to save money on your laptop then taking time to research is the best way of going about it. However, instead of just thinking about the cost you're going to need to consider the kind of laptop you need. For example, if you want to play games on your laptop then getting the cheapest one available just isn't going to work. The latest games will only play on the newer, and more expensive, laptops.
You should look around some comparison websites to find out the kind of laptop that's right for you. If you know that you only need to perform simple tasks then choose budget laptop deals, if you know you want to p lay games then choose gaming laptops. Have a read of available reviews online to find out the preferred brands and models of laptops, and take a look at the individual specifications. Computer forums are great to find some reviews on different laptop models.
When it comes the moment at which you decide to purchase a laptop computer you can either choose to buy online or in the store. There are now a number of price comparison websites that can help you to find the best deal possible, so take a look around before taking the plunge. Buying online is often the better solution as you can usually find the best deals on the internet.
More Purchase a Laptop Computer TopicsQuestion by Danomite: laptop comparison: gateway nv7915u vs asus u50f rbbag05? I am looking to buy a laptop for college. I want something that will perform well and not break the bank. The two laptops I have deduced to be the best are the gateway nv7915u or asus u50f rbbag05. Both have the intel i3 and 4gb of ram and large hard drives. I don't know much about computers but I know a little. Both of these have high spcs (as far as I know) and have received good reviews. I don't play many computer games but I do play some and I plan on buying some in the future. From what I have deduced the gateway is better for gaming and overall performance. I have found it priced at $ 550 refurbished $ 600 new. The asus I found for $ 400 refurbished. So its save some money or have a slightly better computer. I would like to know what people think of each and weigh in on which I should get. Thanks. Best answer for laptop comparison: gateway nv7915u vs asus u50f rbbag05?:

The only difference between these two laptops is the size - The Asus is a 15.6" 1366x768 screen laptop while the Gateway is a 17.3" 1600x900 laptop. This could be important if you'll be carrying your laptop to class with you often and using it to take notes. The Gateway could be too bulky if you wish to use it in packed lecture rooms. With regards to the specs, these are pretty much considered low. The Core i3 330M CPU in both laptops is adequate for all the tasks you'll end up using it for, even gaming. The Intel HD GMA will limit you a lot though when it comes to gaming. You'll be able to play most games past and present at the lowest settings, but you probably won't be able to play many games released in the future even at the lowest settings. Whether you'll be satisfied depends on you. I would suggest going on Youtube and watch gameplay recordings with the Intel graphics. If you're a computer science or similar major, I would recommend the Gateway with its larger screen, otherwise I would recommend the Asus. The higher resolution on the Gateway will be great when you're programming. If you plan on playing games like Modern Warfare 2 and want to play on higher settings than what the Intel HD GPU can provide, I would recommend extending your budget and look for a laptop with a mid range discrete GPU like the ATi 4650 or 5650, or the Nvidia 9600M, 120M, or 260M. I know all the numbers and acronyms can be confusing and overwhelming but it'll be worth it at the end to research them and get the laptop right for you.
