Acer Aspire One 10.1-inch Netbook - 3 Reasons to Get One [bestcomputersprices.blogspot.com]

For as long as I can remember, the Acer Aspire One netbook has been on the top of the netbook bestseller's charts. There were times where it even overtook the Asus Eee netbook in sales. Here is a short list on some of the features that has attributed to the success of the Acer Aspire One netbook.

1.Price: At the time this article was written, the Acer netbook retails for around $ 299 a piece, making it one of the cheapest netbooks in the market. Despite its price, this model has almost identical specs with the more expensive models. It has a 1.6GHz processor, 160GB of hard drive space and 1GB of RAM. To top it up, it also has a very stylish design. I personally feel that it looks better than many other netbook models in the market.

2.Design: The Acer Aspire One comes in a variety of colors, namely, Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue, black and white. Depending on the model that you are buying, there may be several other colors to choose from. It has a g lossy surface with the Acer logo etched on a corner. In recent years, Acer has made so many improvements in its hardware's aesthetics and that is evident in its netbook model. The Acer Aspire One is just one of the best-looking netbooks out there.

3.Great Performance: The Acer Aspire One performs well when it comes to computing tasks. For one, the 10.1-inch model has a brilliant LCD screen that can display images and videos at a 1024 x 600 resolution. The speakers are located below the netbook. They produce very good quality, especially when placed on a solid surface. The keyboard was also extremely comfortable to type on for its size. The combination of competent specs, great performance, good design and an even better price tag makes the Acer Aspire One irresistible. From the looks of it, this tiny little powerhouse is here to stay!

Question by Summer. <3: computer question, which should i choose? so my birthday is coming up, close to Christmas, and my parents want to buy me something big - like a computer. my mom threw in the idea of an ipad. but i don't have wi-fi at my house, so all i would be able to do is play on apps and listen to music, no surfing the web. so i have a few computers in my price range (anywhere from $ 100- $ 400) none above $ 400. i was thinking about getting one from walmart.com, and i have four i chose. Here are the ones i have chosen: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dell-10.1-Inspiron-Mini-1012-Netbook-PC-with-Intel-Atom-Processor-6-Cell-Battery-and-Windows-7-Starter/14663170 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-10.1-Aspire-One-AOD255-Series-Netbook-PC-with-Intel-Atom-N450-Processor-Windows-7-Starter/15230148 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony-10.1-VAIO-VPCM121AX-Laptop-PC-with-Intel-Atom-N450-Processor-Windows-7-Starter/14663175 http://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Pink-Luminous-Rose-10.1-Mini-210-2061NR-Netbook-PC-with-Intel-Atom-N455-Processor-Windows-7-Starter/15231334 i also . . . whats the difference between a netbook and a regular laptop/ PC? this is what im looking for in a computer: - music - lots of room to store pictures - webcam - microsoft word (for writing papers) - portable - long lasting battery which to choose - laptop, ipad, or desktop? whats the best buy? any other idea's on computers you think i would be interested in, add a link. i will greatly appriciate it. thanks you so much! I personally like the viaos. Keep in mind these are all netbooks, meaning slow processors. I'd stick with something at least dual core. those 10.1 inch are going to struggle with video from youtube and hulu.com or even high def. I have an Asus netbook, it works great. If you really want to go netbook, get this http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-1015PN-PU17-BK-10-1-Inch-Netbook-Black/dp/B0046A8WGO/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1291065412&sr=1-6 It has the ion graphics processor which equals faster graphics processing.

Non of them are good for gaming. A laptop is a portable computer that is 13inches or bigger. A netbook is 11inches or smaller like a 9 inch.

Computers from Walmart are very low quality. I would especially stay away from Acer brand & Gateway/Emachines. I bought an awesome laptop 2 weeks ago from this site, I highly suggest it. As for your questions... A netbook is going to have a smaller resolution (800x600 or maybe 1000x800), so many games will not like running in that format. Of course, if you don't game like me that won't be a prob. Stick with a computer that has a normal HDD. The SSD drives (new technology) are pretty good, but more expensive. A 64GB SSD is comparable in price to a 500GB SATA-II (normal hard drive, or HDD) Dell is pretty good for a basic laptop. You will find the best deals on Dell.com. Google on 'dell student discount' if you are in school (not sure if H.S. applies, maybe only college), should save you about 3-5%. Sony laptops are so-so. HP I highly recommend. The G62 & DV7 are above average & good price based on their actual value. I don't like Toshiba (bad experience) & Compaq are budget line of HP. Well, I hope you check out that site, but no prob if you'd rather buy elsewhere. Just avoid Walmart. Not very helpful, prices too high (really!), and they're about 3 mos behind the manufacturers in rolling out the newest units. Best Buy, overpriced? Yes, a bit. But they have cutting edge tech. So I would choose them if you have some $ $ $ to burn & want great advice. (Or you can do like me, and just ask a ton of questions then quietly slip out the door...LOL) Good luck man!

A netbook lakes a DVD/CD ROM Drive, has a slower Processor, less RAM and a smaller screen. Netbooks are not good for storing music on, and do to small screen sizes pictures are so so. Personally I would go with a laptop. If you are going to order on line, go with either Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com for one reason that is they offer support, where as Wall Mart does not. You may even try Amazon.com too, they to offer support though not as good as Newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834200077 Link for a Laptop from Neweeg.com One last thing download OpenOffice.Org it is just like Microsoft Office and it is free which makes it better.

If you don't have wifi, how are you supposed to go on the internet on a laptop. I would get a desktop. With a desktop, you don't need wifi.
