Recommend Buy Pen Drives at Best Price ArticlesQuestion by devil4072: What laptop would be best for me? Hello, I am looking for a laptop to last me for the rest of this year at school (ends in November because I live in New Zealand) and also hopefully 5 years at university. I was thinking one with specs of about 4gb ram, 1.5-2 ghz dual processor, and ~500gb hd (with a minimal graphics card as I won't really be playing games on it.) And would like a built-in webcam and for it to be able to have wireless (I think most laptops nowadays would have this ability?) Are there any other features you can think that would be pretty handy for a student? Would these be suitable specs do you think? I am willing to spend around $ 1300-$ 1500 (New Zealand dollars). I want a reasonable brand as I would like it to last. I have had a look at a local store - Noel Leeming and will post a few links from it that I think might be ok, and I would appreciate it if you could suggest a few to me around this price range. Are Sony, Toshiba and HP considered good brands for laptops? http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/computers/notebook-computers/pc-notebook-computers/toshiba-satellite-l500-04m-notebook/prod103131.html http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/computers/notebook-computers/pc-notebook-computers/toshiba-l500-00x-notebook/prod102003.html I think the two above are basically the same, except for one having 3 USB ports and this same one having "Mobile Intel HD Graphics upto 1.7GB" rather than "ATi Radeon HD4570 512MB GDDR3 Graphics". Also I think the second link may only have a single core? So it is probably not so good. What's special or bad about "SATA" harddrives? Also, I had a lookat this HP laptop, but it doesn't like a webcam as a feature, although it does look like it has one in the picture. It also only has a 320gb harddrive which seems a bit small? Or would that still be plenty? http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/computers/notebook-computers/pc-notebook-computers/hp-pavilion-elite-high-performance-edition-hpe-180a-pc-only/prod101865.html I also looked at this sony one, but it also does not say it has a webcam (although again, looks likeit has one) and also a 320gb harddrive. http://www.noelleeming.co.nz/computers/notebook-computers/pc-notebook-computers/sony-vaio-vpceb15fgw-notebook/prod102748.html Which of these do you think would be most suitable? Or can you suggest one which would be in my price range and a better choice? Thanks Best answer for What laptop would be best for me?:

i think you should consider the Toshiba Red 13.3" Satellite U505-S2005 Laptop PC with Intel Core i3-330M Processor & Windows 7 built in web cam and with available in nice colors eith high specs and anothere option is Dell Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop Jet Black (15.4" Wide Screen with true life, built-in Webcam, Intel Pentium Dual Core T2330 processor at 1.60GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, 8X DVD +/- RW w/dbl layer write capability, Windows Vista Premium) the both laptops amount is within 850$ US so my advise is that you should first purchase a used laptop for starting days for idea and if you r interested so you can go to Electro computer wear house such a nice shop for laptops i used a laptop of this shop and was happy with that so i hope this will help pyu
