Question by : Where/ what is the best customizable laptop computer to buy? I'm looking to buy a [customized] laptop, built around recording music. My price range is $ 1,000 to about $ 1,400. I'm going to run lenix, so no Macs, or anything of the sort... I want wireless internet and it be compatible with audio recording hardware. I'm also going to but an external hard drive for the bulk of my music, so size isn't as much an issue. I want it to run fast and have a very good sound card. If your going to run Linux and are going to be using Ubuntu look at sytem76.com they have pre-installed ubuntu and good customization. if you buy any other laptop you will be paying a few hundred dollars to buy windows- a waste of money that you can't get out of.
