Last week we posted a short video about the performance of AMD's Llano core A-series of APUs for gaming and the response was so positive that we have decided to continue on with some other short looks at features and technologies with the processor. For this video we decided to investigate the advantages and performance of the Dual Graphics technology - the AMD APU's ability to combine the performance of a discrete GPU with the Radeon HD 6550D graphics integrated on the A8-3850 APU. For this test we set our A8-3850 budget gaming rig to the default clock speeds and settings and used an AMD Radeon HD 6570 1GB as our discrete card of choice. With a price hovering around , the HD 6570 would be a modest purchase for a user that wants to add some graphical performance to their low-cost system but doesn't stretch into the market of the enthusiast. The test parameters were simple: we knew the GPU on the Radeon HD 6570 was a b it better than that of the A8-3850 APU so we compared performance of the discrete graphics card ALONE to the performance of the system when enabling CrossFire, aka Dual Graphics technology.

for $ 500 not going to happen. The video card alone is going to cost you like 100-200, and you are not going to find an already built computer for that price. The only way I could see this possibly working is building one yourself.

$ 500 is gonna get you a comp capable of running source games. (slightly lower lvl that the Call of Duty Gfx requirements) if your gonna use $ 500 build one go to Tigerdirect.com and get one of the barebone kits that might be on sale save some $ and get your best bang for buck.

ya, $ 500 for something like that is most likely not going to happen. You might get the other stuff but the graphics card is not going to be strong enough to play CoD4. You might get lucky at walmart or something, but all those will most likely have Intel integrated graphics.

Core 2 Duo is a rip off. This is the best I can give you, I d on't know how much it will cost, but it will offer a lot of performace for price. Try this: CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 720 (my friend has this, he plays games at their highest settings and it runs flawlessly. And because it's triple core, he has one extra core he can use if he needs to do other things like browse the web) Mobo: A cheap Gigabyte UD3 or 2 with 770 chipset. RAM: 4gb DDR3 1066 Video: ATI 4800 series. Or 5700 series.
