just build your own I have a Pc that can match any Alienware desktop for about 2,000$ dollars less build your own means by yourself, so why would you go to a "professinal"
Answer by darkfiend4
I use a Gateway and just bought a graphics card once I got it. So far it hasn't caused me any trouble and it runs ever game perfectly. Gateways are fairly cheap too.

Alienwares are way overpriced. I would get the Dell XPS, you will be able to customize it with blu ray and a decent Nvidia graphics card for playing the best games

If you are talking desktop gaming it is MUCH cheaper and better to build your own rig. How do I do that? Look for online gaming or PC forums and online guides for building your ultimate gaming rig.

If you are looking for a cheap good gaming computer any computer now will do fine. If you are looking for a cheap alienware computer, you are out of luck. Alienware and Cheap can't be put in the same sentence together. Two guys brought Alienware computers with us last year on deployment. Both crashed with a total data loss for the guys that had movies and pictures on them. Big disappointment. Save your money and use sites like either newegg.com or tigerdirect.com to get a good gaming computer. both sites list the products along with what they are compatible with, how much they cost etc. They make it real easy.

With any computer, gaming or otherwise, you pay a premium for the "fastest" component simply because it is the "fastest" and it's in higher demand. For instance, you might see 3 processors listed: 2.4GHz (+$ 0) 2.6GHz (+$ 50) 2.8GHz (+$ 150) Now you can see here that the first boost of 0.2GHz is only $ 50. However, the next boost is an additional $ 100 for the same incremental increase. As such, the "best" choice would be the 2.6GHz (in this case) Typically if you get the "2nd fastest" option, that'll be the most bang for your buck.

I bought my gaming PC custom from CyberPower, plays everything I have except Crysis at 60fps on max settings at 1680x1050. Here are the specs: Manufacturer: Custom built by Cyberpower Processor: Intel® Core⢠2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0GHz Memory: 2GB OCZ Reaper HPC edition Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F1 500GB HDD Video Card: HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 Monitor: Samsung SM2032BW 20" LCD Monitor Sound Card: High definition 7.1 audio Speakers/Headphones: Labtec 2.1 sound Keyboard: Logitech PS/2 Keyboard Mouse: Technika PS/2 Mouse Operating System: Windows Vista⢠Home Premium SP1 Motherboard: Asus P5K-E WIFI/AP Computer Case: Apevia X-Jupiter type G Black I would really reccommend a build like this. It cost me £1k almost exactly. If you want a more mainstream manufacturer buy a Dell XPS, but they are more expensive and don't always use the best parts. Don't buy an Alienware, it's the same as an XPS but more expensive. Best idea is to get it custom made. That way it comes with less rubbish you don't want, freeing up the hard drive. You could add a blu-ray drive if you want too. Justin if you know nothing about computers gtfo here.

Emu76. Crysis WILL NOT run at 60 FPS at max settings on an ATI Radeon 4850. I dont know what world you live on. And as for answering the question: Go to any computer store, the Non franchised ones ( go for small stores, NOT BEST BUY or future shop.. something that you've never heard of). There alot in major cities (like toronto) and they are usually very friendly and can help you out alot. just tell them you're looking for a very good gaming computer with either of these: ATI Radeon 4850 or 4870 nVidia 9800 GTX or GTX+ nVidia GTX260 or GTX280 or GTX295/285 Then ask them to help you configure the rest. You generally want to go with a dual core processor with a High FSB clock and a Overclocking motherboard. They'll help you pick some out for sure! Most of these little stores, i find are very friendly and help out alot with building. Hell, they'll even build the entire computer for you for around 40 dollars labor fee. I bought my first computer from a small unknown computer store and the guy was giving me discounts on everything. Since then i've been able to upgrade my own computer. The reason i tell you to go to a small store is that they generally arn't that professional. That way, they dont need to follow "strict protocols" such as being forced to sell you a machine with windows XP isntalled. Alot of them will give you a free pirated version of XP if you ask for it. Also, it gives more of a "homely" feel. You can actually get personal with the people because they're not being pressured to sell crap to you for commission.
