Everything seems fine but how many years old is the thing? P3? Latest is dual core. go min for P4 hard disk can be min 80GB.

It's not bad if you are going to do light work on the computer. Web browsing, Email, maybe some word processing. Forget about playing games.

Get a DSL internet connection,(or cable internet), and plug it into the 10/100 network card port. You can do a few office programs. Fast on the internet,(multiple windows, brings up a website fast), NO! Gamin'? Forget about it! That's a Pentium II,(Pentium III?), 667Mhz processor with 320MB's of ram memory. 30GB harddrive. But it's $ 40, and will get you on the 'net. Sound's like you'll need a monitor though. Check the D.A.V. , Salvation Army, thrift stores, or newspaper adds, plus small computer shops. Might be one you can pick up for $ 15 to $ 20 bucks. (Maybe one of your friend's parents, has an old one in the basement/garage. Maybe one of your relatives. Maybe they have an old computer like this! Hmmmm, food for thought!)

If the pc is just for Internet/email/msn/office etc, It sounds like a bargain, as $ 40 is a 'throw-away' price.

It depends on what you need it for... If you just wanted something to play around with and learn, then yeah its pretty good for $ 40. Even basic stuff like email, internet, movies, music will work great on a p3. I can guarantee you the newest and most expensive computer out there won't be able to do these tasks any better than a p3. The only exceptions are hardcore gaming, multitasking, and cpu intensive apps. If you do these things then it's probably not worth your $ 40.

Depending on what you want to use it for and if it runs it is worth $ 40. When the Pentium 3 was out XP was not. So that means it was upgraded. XP is going to be the weak link here because this PC was not designed for it and the PC lacks the power and RAM to use XP correctly. This means it will be slow. Also this PC was made before the USB 2.0 standard went int to production. So if you buy any USB devices make sure they are backward compatible to USB 1.1 The antivirus that is installed, check its date. It it is from the year 2000, the updates are not longer available. This will get you through no PC at all. -tcw

its fine for 40 bucks. Id buy it now and I have way too many computers already. it will run xp fine too. I had a very similar pc.
