Question by William: Laptop or Deskeop? and Which computers are decent computers within my price range? My situation is that I have about 8 computers, my parents keep buying them.. but they all suck. One of them can't even run MS Word without lagging. They're all getting out of date, I want to start playing some games with my school friends... but I never really have been able to because my parents wont let me buy a new computer 'cause "we have too many." Now that I'm getting older they're letting me make more of my own decisions... My parents are divorced and I move back and forth every week. So a laptop would be the best for me, but if someone knows a good desktop that's a little smaller and is still decent for playing games on... The computer should be around $ 600 and have a better graphics card than a 64MB 3D Graphics card. Which I'm assuming is a low end card... but I don't know for sure. I'm looking at either a Dell or an HP computer. I don't know which one is better at making laptops and desktops. I've had better luck with HP Computers, and a $ 600 laptop will be a decent one from HP. You should try upgrading the memory in some of the ones you have already.

A $ 600 laptop is not going to be able to play very many games. (at least not very well). Desktops are made to play games, and with that you just need to buy a graphic card. What is the most up-to-date computer you own now? Can you buy a good graphic card for it?! That should fix the gaming problem. You could buy an okay Dell ($ 4-500) and then buy an Okay graphic card...

I understand that you prefer one of the two you have listed but, I am a Gateway kinda guy! I have had them all, and I just do not care for Dell. All though their older desktops are pretty reliable. if u want gaming buy a desktop easy to upgrade, laptop for 600 will be another weak computer to add to ur parents collection ! Upgrade one ur parents allready have it would be cheaper . I got a HP dv6208nr its okay but i wouldn't play some heavy duty games on it i rather play my PS3 4 some bad ass gaming !
